Shoba’s (columnist with mint) defination of Luxury - Time, customizaton and discreet luxe cannot be any closer than my own defination of luxury. I wont be right person to speak anything about the other two but TIME, yes that is one luxury that the creator has gifted everybody equally. We all have 24 hours a day, it doesn't matter whether one is multi-millionare businessman or some one working with a ever busy govt. office where they have all the time in the world to discuss everything under the sun. (Ofcourse other than their work). We all have 24 hours only and it all depends on how one intends to use those 24 hours.
The idea of living an organized life wherein everything is as per schedule is facinating but then at the end of day, lying on the bed when we think of someone who passed by our zooming vehicle playing with his kids, or walking with partner or with himself we do end up thinking whether all the mullah earned during the day was really worth it.
I see a whole lot of people who love spending long hours at office, with all kind of very arguable reasons that this is the time where extra efforts will bear fruits in future. But then these are people of age ranging from 25-52. I fail to understand what future they always talk about. Bcoz i know that there are things which i will be njoying the most when i am 26 and not at 62 and vice -versa.
I think a whole lot of people do understand it, but are too weak to tell themselves that the way they are running around is wrong and they are missing a lot of fun. I say this because i have come across a whole bunch of people who do dream of spending time in luxury but end up sitting in office just because some one else is also sitting and chatting with his friend online.

Must say a simple but interesting observaton....N ya very relevant examples.
Trust me cud easily relate to a couple of them.
Have been part of a work grp where they wud sit at an udipi next to the office 5 in the evening n gossip n bad mouth about others just like ladies at a kitty party. N poor souls like me wud b forced to b a part of such luxury, assuming excess time is an elemement of luxury.

But just an after thought, till some time back weren't u returning home at 10 in the night too.

But ya, as much as i'd love to live for today i cant deny the fact that i'll b responsible for my family tomorrow n thats where id have to make a trade-off on my luxury. N ya i wudnt repent tht.

Gaurav!! would like to suggest you expand a lil more on the blog!! looks a lil incomplete!! anyways quite agree with you that the early part of our lives must be spent with the fullest, rather than saving up for what might not be a possibility at old age!! I also think one must identify what they like doing the most and devote time towards it, like photography or travelling for examples!! Most people are confused with identifying where they should devote their time to. Most have multiple wishes too!! Nyways happy searching guys!!

All of us have set of things which we love to do & certain things which we have to do..finding a balance between them is what the struggle is all about..i guess the struggle will continue only till the point where we acknowledge the fact that what we love is actually what we want..not otherwise..
